hama dan penyakit pada sayuran


Salah satu upaya peningkatan kualitas buah mangga adalah dengan mengendalikan hama buah mangga yang merupakan penyebab utama kurangnya mutu mangga di Indonesia. Identifikasi hama dan penanganan yang tepat merupakan jalan awal untuk memulai meningkatkan mutu yang seanjutnya bisa meningkatkan daya saing buah mangga dari Indonesia.
Berikut adalah contoh beserta pengendaliannya yang selama ini telah dilakukan di Indonesia: 
1. Wereng Mangga
 
Serangga merusak tanaman dengan cara mengisap cairan bunga yang baru mekar sehingga bunga mudah kering dan cepat mati. Serangga dewasa berukuran 0,2 - 0,3 mm berwarna abu-abu kecoklatan.
Cara Pengendalian
- Memotong bagian bunga yang terserang, kemudian dimusnahkan.
- Menyuntik pohon mangga dengan insektisida sistemik sebanyak 10 - 20 cc per pohon. Hal ini dilakukan pada tanaman mangga yang sudah berumur lebih dari 30 tahun.
- Menyemprotkan insektisida APLAUD 400 F atau DARMABASH 500.
2. Lalat Buah
Serangga dewasa berwarna kuning bersayap putih bening dan berukuran panjan 7 - 8 mm, suka hinggap dan bertelur pada buah mangga, jambu biji; jambu air, belimbing, nangka, jeruk dan cabai, sehingga buah menjadi rusak.
Cara Pengendalian
- Membungkus (membrongsong) buah muda sampai menjadi tua dengan kertas semen.
- Memasang umpan metyl eugenol.
- Menyemprotkan insektisida DECIS atau TALSTAR 25 EC pada saat buah muda.
- Memusnahkan buah-buah busuk
3. Ulat Penggerek Buah

Panjang serangga dewasa 1,6 - 2 mm, ulatnya berwarna hijau keunguan menyerang buah yang masih muda sampai agak tua, yang di tandai dengan adanya kotoran bekas gerekan.
Cara Pengendalian
- Membungkus (membrongsong) buah dengan kertas semen.
- Menyemprotkan insektisida AGROTHION 50 EC atau AMCOTHENE 75 SP pada saat buah muda.
- Memusnahkan buah-buah yang gugur.
4. Penggerek Ranting
Hama penggerek ranting berupa kumbang berwarna coklat yang ukuran tubuhnya 6 mm, kumbang tersebut merusak tanaman dengan cara menggerek ranting yang di tandai dengan keluarnya kotoran berwarna hitam menempel pada ranting.
Cara Pengendalian
- Memangkas ranting yang terserang kemudian membakarnya dan bekas pangkasan dioles dengan ter atau meni.
- Menyemprotkan insektisida ATABRON 50 EC atau AMBUSH 2 EC.
5. Kutu Putih
Kutu berbentuk oval, datar, tertutup lapisan tebal seperti lilin, sering hinggap di daun dan menghisap cairan sel daun. Akibat serangan kutu tersebut, pada daun terdapat bercak kuning kotor.
Cara Pengendalian
- Memotong dan memusnahkan daun tempat koloni serangga.
- Menyemprotkan insektisida DIKROTOFOS (BILDRIN 24 WSC).
Secara umum, pengendalian hama yang ada masih dilakukan secara mekanis dan juga secara kimiawi (pestisida). Belum ada atau masih jarang sekali pengendalian hama buah mangga di Indonesia selain dengan kedua sistem tersebut. Peraturan dan proses karantina yang lebih ketat (tentang pestisida) dari negara pengimpor mangga dari Indonesia, mengharuskan pengendalian hama buah mangga dilakukan dengan cara yang lain.
